114mm Posts vs.89cm Posts You don’t have to be a mathematician to understand that thicker support posts will ultimately result in a stronger, more stable play
structure. We use114mm posts as standard equipment. Nothing less! The round posts lend itself nicely with the TRUE SAFE system, offering a clean, European look. KOOCHIE products use a unique, minimal
maintenance fastening system called the TRUE SAFE system. This includes a solid, factory compatible designed construction, and corrosion resistant,
galvanized steel fasteners. This system boasts a clean, European look and makes the whole play structure an extremely
solid and safe unit. The traditional welded system is bulky, unsightly and is known to be problematic over a period of time. This clamping system also requires less and infrequent maintenance. KOOCHIE’s TRUE SAFE system is built to withstand the test of time … and the test of kids.
What is the Difference between our FLOW COAT HOT DIP GALVANIZED STEEL
POSTS & THAT WHICH OTHERS USE [like plain steel / normal galvanized steel posts]? HOT DIP GALVANIZED STEEL POSTS & PARTS [used in all KOOCHIE products], This is a technology by which our steel tubes are dipped into 99.9% pure zinc (liquid) and then subjected to a high temperature.
It is a system that ensures that the zinc liquid imperatively pervades into the steel tube & that the GALVANIZING IS NOT
JUST A SUPERFICIAL COATING. [To know the difference between ours & normal steel tubes you
will notice that our tubes will appear to be not very smooth, as compared to an ordinary steel tube, this is caused due to the fact, that after galvanizing, the zinc will have
left its layer IMPREGNATED INTO THE SURFACE of the treated tube. WE WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SUBMIT OUR SECTIONS FOR TESTING AT ANY GIVEN POINT OF TIME TO PROVE THE ABOVE. ORDINARY STEEL TUBES [that other’s use]: These are ordinary tubes that others use in their systems, which have some treatment before the powder coating is done. The rust on these tubes is simply wiped off
with the use of yellow dichromate & this is done just on the surface. If
you cut / scratch these tubes, you will find that they easily oxidize when exposed to wet / humid weather conditions. UNLIKE OURS!
ORDINARY GALVANIZED STEEL TUBES [that others use]: these kinds of tubes are just dipped into the zinc liquid but not treated with HOT
DIP TECHNIQUE. Hence this is similar to a simple powder coating. It is just a superficial layer on the surface.
To distinguish an ORDINARY GALVANIZED TUBE from a HOT DIP FLOW COAT
GALVANIZED TUBE you need to see the cut level [cross section] or knock / scratch it. You will see the galvanizing breaking / knocking off.
Compared to our competitors' ordinary [non flow coat / hot dipped galvanized] steel posts, which corrode in a shot span or time, our playground equipment posts are made TO
WITHSTAND THE TEST OF TIME
Similarly all our PLASTIC PARTS are roto-moulded with virgin LLDPE granules that are imported from SAMSUNG Korea that is UN MATCHED in terms of quality, aesthetics, life & performance.
Specifications
UPRIGHT POSTS:
- All upright posts are to be schedule HOT DIP Galvanized steel with a 114mm OD {Outer Diameter} and 2.2mm (wall) thickness of the tubing.
- Steel quality is BS1387-1985 technical standard BS1387-1985.
- Posts are to be finished with a baked on powder coat finish.
- Electro - statically applied polyester powder must have a tough finish with maximum durability.
- The pre-treatment and curing process includes the following: -
- Sand blasting > acid wash > freshwater rinse > iron phosphate rinse > final rinse > seal & dry-off > oven baked electro-static powder application and dual zone curing in the oven.
- Finished products have the following typical characteristics: 0.5mm thickness, oven cured between 191oC and 220oC, to achieve Flexibility, Impact, Salt Spray {Corrosion} Resistance, Hardness and Adhesion.
POST CAPS:
- All post caps are to be cast from aluminium which is
pre-treated, cured and sandblasted , 114mm diameter, with a baked on powder coat finish.
- All post caps are to be made from aluminium with a 114mm OD {Outer Diameter}.
- Post caps are to be finished with a baked on powder coat finish.
- Electro - statically applied polyester powder must have a tough finish with maximum durability.
- The pre-treatment and curing process includes the following: -
- Sand blasting > acid wash > freshwater rinse > iron phosphate rinse > final rinse > seal & dry-off > oven baked electro-static powder application and dual zone curing in the oven.
- Finished products have the following typical characteristics: 0.5mm thickness, oven cured between 191oC and 220oC, to achieve Flexibility, Impact, Salt Spray {Corrosion} Resistance, Hardness and Adhesion.
BASE PLATES: All base plates to be made from steel with 114mm inner diameter.
The pre-treatment and curing process for each Base Plate must include the following:- sandblasting > acid wash > freshwater rinse > iron phosphate rinse > final rinse and seal > dry-off > oven electro-static powder application, and dual zone cure in oven. Finished products have the following typical characteristics: 0.5mm thickness, oven cured between 191
oC and 220

Clamp: Clamps are to be cast from aluminium which is
pre-treated, cured and sandblasted , 114mm diameter, with a baked on powder coat finish.
Couplings: Couplings are to be cast from aluminium which is sandblasted,
pre-treated and cured, 32mm diameter, with a baked on powder coat finish.
DECK, STEP PLATFORM, STAIRS, BAFFLE: Shall be an all ROBOTIC welded assembly fabricated from 2mm perforated punched steel. Deck perimeter is precision pre-punched for attachments. Decks are pressed, punched, and welded; sand blasted to remove rust & impurity; powder coated to 2.2mm thickness or vinyl plastic coated to a thickness of 4mm [optional].
HANDRAILS: Shall be an all robotic welded unit, fabricated from 32 O.D.
galvanized steel pipes with a baked on powder coated finish. The
electro-statically applied polyester powder has a tough finish with maximum durability. The pretreatment and curing process includes the following: sandblasting> acid wash > freshwater rinse > iron phosphate > final rinse and seal dry-off oven, electro-static powder coating application, and dual zone cure oven. SPIRAL CLIMBER, PIPED WALLS: Shall be an all robotic welded fabricated from 32 O.D. galvanized steel pipes for the outer pipes and 25mm O.D. galvanized steel for the inner parallel bars with a baked on powder coat finish. The Electro- statically applied polyester powder has a tough finish with maximum durability. The pretreatment and curing process includes the following: sandblasting >acid wash > freshwater rinse > iron phosphate > final rinse and seal dry-off oven, electro-static powder coating application, and dual zone cure oven. Finished products have the following typical characteristics: 0.5mm thickness, oven cured between 191
oC and 220

HARDWARE: Used for assembly shall be stainless steel 304. All hardware & fastener (bolts, nuts, screws, washers and etc.) used shall be of tampered resistant stainless steel. Exposed hardware shall be covered with ultra violet stabilized plastic safety caps as a safety feature against protruding hardware, aesthetic pleasing against ugly exposed hardware and prevention against vandalism as well
ROOFS, SLIDES, PANELS & PLASTIC COMPONENTS: Shall be rotationally molded from virgin linear low density UV stabilized polyethylene, with color molded in and minimum thickness of 6 - 8mm. The raw virgin plastic material (LLDPE) is imported from SAMSUNG Company, Korea.
OTHER PIPE WALLS AND STEEL TUBING COMPONENTS: Shall be fabricated from 32mm O.D. galvanized steel pipe with a baked on powder coat finish.
